Oxford has a large and thriving group in probability, spanning the Department of Statistics and the Mathematical Institute. Our research interests cover a broad range including interacting particle systems, branching processes, random graphs, mathematical population genetics, percolation, SLE, stochastic analysis and rough paths. We organise many joint activities, including three weekly seminars. In addition to 20 faculty, there are also about 30 doctoral students and 10 postdocs working in probability. The EPSRC CDT in the Mathematics of Random Systems is run jointly between the Mathematical Institute, the Department of Statistics and the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College.
